Budget Drum Recording: The $200 Studio Challenge

Most beginners think they need an 8-channel interface and a 7-piece mic kit to start. They don't. In fact, more mics often mean more problems (phase issues, messy cables, and a harder mix). For under $200, we are going to focus on the "One-Mic Power Setup."

At this price point, you don't need fancy software bundles. You need a reliable box that converts your analog hits into digital data.
